These are NOT the same as minimum reqs. so don't freak out. Just if you want a smooth, pretty game with relatively high framerate, aim for this:
OS Windows® 7 32-bit/64-bit* CPU Intel® Core™ i7 2.66GHz or higher RAM 4GB or more HDD/SDD Installation: 15GB of free space Download: 6GB of free space on the drive containing "My Documents" Graphics Card NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 460 or better with VRAM 768MB or more Sound Card DirectSound® compatible sound card (DirectX® 9.0c or higher) Internet Connection Broadband or better (always-on) Resolution 1280x720 (32-bit) or higher DirectX® DirectX® 9.0c Others Mouse, Keyboard, Gamepad

Actually I'd suggest getting the 6GB or more memory.... the new tripple threading memory deal is best way to go.

Lol, anything more than 4 gb for this game isn't going to be that noticeable, at least for those of us that have a crappy laptop for daily use. XD

damn i already bought mine >_< well ill see how it runs the game and upgrade as necessary Only one way to know how well it'll run... Run the benchmark and see... Benchmark Score of over 2500 is "Standard" will run it well at lower resolutions and your computer will definately go over that. Heck my 2 year old computer does... 2.4 Quad Core / 4 Gig memory / 9800 GT: Score - 2766 Download Benchmark From: uk.download.nvidia.com/nzone/international/benchmarks/ffxiv/FFXIVBenchmark.zipUnzip Benchmark and Run (No install needed) Score Benchmark: www.finalfantasyxiv.com/media/benchmark/na/ [8000 and over] Extremely High Performance Easily capable of running the game on the highest settings. [5500–7999] Very High Performance Easily capable of running the game. Should perform exceptionally well, even at higher resolutions. [4500-5499] High Performance Easily capable of running the game. Should perform well, even at higher resolutions. [3000-4499] Fairly High Performance Capable of running the game on default settings. Consider switching to a higher resolution depending on performance. [2500-2999] Standard Performance Capable of running the game on default settings. [2000-2499] Slightly Low Performance Capable of running the game, but may experience some slowdown. Adjust settings to improve performance. [1500-1999] Low Performance Capable of running the game, but will experience considerable slowdown. Adjusting settings is unlikely to improve performance. [Under 1500] Insufficient Performance Does not meet specifications for running the game

when I talked to a geek they said you can't rely completely on bench marks because its not real. we'll see tho Bench marks in general no you can not rely 100% on them, but a Game that puts out a benchmark for how well that game will play. I'd trust that over most other things... Real world conditions do come in, Consistan and Trustworthy parts I'll take every time over Benchmark scores... I don't think X or Y brand is that much better, but when it comes to X or Y Card Type yes you should see benchmarks to see what is the best price point. Is $150 video card that much worse than $250 card... my personal feeling is $250 is the most you should normally pay, beyond that your going insane. : ) Honestly you'd consider me a Geek... MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) and VB Programmer who works with SQL & Predictive Dialers. Anyone who says you can't rely on benchmarks for a general sence of how good something has faitally flawed logic. If my hard drive benchmark says my hard drive reads/writes twice as fast as yours, you can be sure it probably is pretty close to it. (Most hard drives are 7200 and my 2 Raid 0 HDD are 10k) If we both benchmarked with same program I'd say that benchmark would come out to my HDD is twice as fast as yours. Especially for larger files.^^ Prove my Geekiness? (Raid 0 = Disk Stripping - 2 hard drives work together and act as 1 hard drive, nearly doubling the speed)
