The Miners’ Guild is responsible for the excavation and handling of Eorzea’s mineral wealth, be it ores, fossils, precious stones, or otherwise. It should come as no surprise, then, that their most eager customers are the realm’s blacksmiths and goldsmiths. To fully master the advanced techniques developed by the great mining nation of Ul’dah, miners must undertake a wide range of tasks, from the meticulous prospecting of the most minute deposits to large–scale civil engineering. The guild staunchly subscribes to the theory of continental drift, and as such many among its ranks for their patron deity Oschon, the Wanderer. The primary tool of the miner is the pickaxe.

harvester mebe? they should be the dudes getting plants.
anyway we need someone to go goldsmith since its most likely gonna be the most lucrative. been thinking about the company making money..
ive been considering us using the company's money to help people craft. like a certain amount of gil/week could be distributed to the people with the highest level of skill in the company in each craft, as an incentive to work at it. idk, not sure yet but its worth thinking about!

osiris- i think harvester is probably going to include gardening as well since that was initially a class. and itll likely be coupled with a crafting profession like alchemy or culinarian even. i dont think DoL classes are intended to stand alone in general, but are supposed to supplement crafting. if you can get your own supplies more readily you dont need as much money to get started.
pariah- i like the idea of taxing members, but i was originally just going to apply it to myself haha. imposing it on other members could scare them away so im hesitant. thats why i was thinking of an incentive program instead. either way we need to actually sit down and hammer out a concrete system before too long. maybe next time i come to ramona. and yeah coming up with good ways to spend company funds is crucial. it can be spend on crafting, equipment, temp. items for raids and other events.. anything else?

Ok so Schuyler and I had the idea (well just me) to try one...so u are in the opening scene and you have to fight this giant squid thing..u have stones that do one hit point each...THATS IT...it wasnt until some other player ran up punch it twice and it died that i was able to move on..so after ssoo much talking you get your first quest! FINALLY some mining! well think again. The mining consist of these two I guess u could say mini games that consist of moving a bar up and down on a line and then clicking a circle..your guy then tells u "o i feel something" or "nothing interesting" we did it about 5 times and couldn't figure out the secret on how to actually mine the freaking thing..it took us almost all the time just time mine three of them (its a 30 min quest) the only way we could really get them was trial and error over and over again..move the bar up, move the bar down, click sooner, click later...It was frustrating
